Susan Nadon

Susan Nadon, alpacas, Granville, Massachusetts, and the Pioneer Valley near Springfield. Nadon has been involved in alpaca husbandry for several years and holds membership in national alpaca breeders’ associations. Her herd receives routine veterinary checkups and regular parasite management under the guidance of a local veterinarian.

Animals graze on rotational pasture with open-sided shelter available at all times. Cria are introduced to gentle handling in the first days of life and join group pens for ongoing socialization. Fleece samples are evaluated annually for fiber density and uniformity to guide breeding decisions.

Each fall the farm hosts a small fleece sampling event for fiber artists and hand-spinners. The farm operates on a family scale that allows close oversight of each animal’s well-being, and Nadon’s ongoing focus on health and temperament has earned positive feedback from neighbors and visitors.
