Sunset Mountain Miniatures

Sunset Mountain Miniatures raises miniature horses in north Texas, near the small community of Lipan, roughly an hour southwest of Fort Worth.

Daniel and Carla Crider run the ranch with a clear focus on performance: their program specializes in jumpers, driving horses, and chariot competitors. All horses bred at the ranch are registered with both AMHA and AMHR, and the Criders have competed at the AMHA World Championship and AMHR National Championship levels, with multiple national and world championship titles to the program's name.

The ranch has also produced miniature horses for sale in Texas that go on to serve as therapy animals and public-event horses. Horses bred on the property carry the Sunset Mountain prefix and are regularly shown in obstacle, driving, and chariot events — disciplines that demand both athletic ability and trainability. The ranch has participated for years in community events in the Fort Worth area, bringing horses out to give rides and demonstrations to thousands of visitors each season.
