Stonebull Bullmastiffs

Stonebull Bullmastiffs has been raising bullmastiffs in Swanzey, New Hampshire since 1989, making it one of the longer-running bullmastiff programs in the region. The kennel is run by Jacklyn Smith and her co-breeder Steve Krulish, and is situated in the southwestern corner of the state, roughly 20 minutes from Keene.

The program began simply, with a single puppy that sparked a lasting involvement in the breed, and grew into a small hobby kennel focused on producing sound, healthy dogs that are true to the breed standard. Dogs in the program participate in agility, obedience, and tracking, which keeps them engaged and well-rounded before they transition to family homes.

At seven weeks, pups are assessed using the Wendy Volhard Puppy Personality Profile, with the results used to pair temperament and lifestyle between puppy and family. Health testing for common concerns such as hip dysplasia is conducted, with results made available through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Each puppy also receives a state health certificate and is microchipped prior to placement.
