Stewart Ranch raises grass-fed belted Galloway cattle in Napa, California, operating within the heart of Napa Valley wine country just north of the city of Napa. The ranch is recognized as the oldest California breeder of belted Galloways, with roots in the property stretching back through multiple generations of the Stewart family.

Owners Ailene and Paul Tarap run a cow-calf operation that spans around 190 acres, including owned land and leased pasture between Napa and Fairfield. The herd is raised on grass and supplemented with grape pomace and stems from the property's own vineyards after harvest, while cattle manure is returned to the vineyards in turn — a closed-loop system that reflects the ranch's long integration of cattle and viticulture.

Ailene and Paul actively show their belted Galloways at competitions across the country and hold several national championship titles, with adult children also participating in herd management and ranch activities. Bloodline selection is a deliberate part of the program, with bulls sourced for specific genetics and body form. The cattle are raised without added hormones or antibiotics, on a fully grass-fed and sustainably managed program.
