Steam Valley Farms

Steam Valley Farms, Scottish Highland cattle, Trout Run, PA, is located in Lycoming County and the Susquehanna Valley near Williamsport.

Robert S. Kieser has bred Scottish Highland cattle with an emphasis on genetic health and temperament, participating in national and regional cattle associations for more than fifteen years. Each calf is cared for in open pasture rotation and accustomed to daily handling, ensuring calm, resilient animals suited to small farms or homesteads. Robert’s careful record-keeping and herd selection have produced cattle that consistently meet breed standards at county fairs.

Steam Valley Farms maintains hooves, dental checks and regular veterinary screenings for all herd members. Its rolling pastureland, timbered shelter areas and stone barns provide a natural setting that reflects traditional farming practices. A recent visitor noted the herd’s gentle nature and the farm’s welcoming atmosphere. Calving is timed for late spring, when pastures yield fresh grass and natural shelters are readily available.
