Starpons Polish Lowland Sheepdogs, founded by Donna Gray in Harrisburg, North Carolina, has been one of the longest-running kennels dedicated exclusively to the Polish Lowland sheepdog in the United States. Gray's connection to shaggy herding breeds goes back to her childhood, when she showed an Old English sheepdog in Junior Showmanship — a background that eventually led her to discover the PON as a smaller alternative, and to establish Starpons in 1988.

The kennel's reach has grown over the decades through collaboration with a co-breeder based in Illinois, who joined the Starpons program in 2003 after the two met at a dog show in the early 1990s. Situated in the greater Charlotte area, Starpons is within easy reach of families searching for Polish Lowland sheepdog puppies in North Carolina and the surrounding Southeast.

All breeding dogs at Starpons carry health clearances covering hips, knees, thyroid, and eyes. The kennel is a member in good standing of the American Polish Lowland Sheepdog Club, the AKC parent breed club for the PON.
