Standing Ovation Miniatures

Standing Ovation Miniatures raises miniature horses in Concord, Virginia, in the foothills of Amherst County near Lynchburg. Janet Lewis and co-owner Tony Benvenuto started the program in 2000 and have spent more than two decades breeding and training registered miniature horses for the show circuit.

The operation spans two properties, including an 11-acre farm in Concord where Lewis maintains a herd of former show horses and horses being prepared for future competition. Benvenuto brings a lifelong background in horse training to the partnership, working closely with each animal from an early age. Their approach centers on breeding to the AMHA standard and then putting the time into conditioning and ring preparation that show competition demands.
