Spice Mountain Schnauzers and Standard Poodles raises miniature schnauzers and standard poodles from a forested property in Black Forest, Colorado, a rural community northeast of Colorado Springs and within easy reach of Denver along the Front Range.

Debbie St. Louis, a veterinarian, founded the program with health and temperament as its central priorities. Breeding stock undergoes health testing for inherited diseases, and dogs receive lifelong blood work monitoring. Litters are AKC registered and come with a health guarantee. Puppies produced here have gone on to work as service dogs, and the low-shedding coats of the poodle-crossed offspring make them a practical option for allergy-sensitive households.

All parent dogs live in the home as full companions and join the family on hikes through the surrounding Black Forest terrain. Puppies begin neurostimulation training between days four and fourteen, following protocols used in therapy and service dog programs, then progress to early potty training and socialization before going to their new homes. The program runs a small number of select litters each year and also produces miniature schnoodles alongside its purebred miniature schnauzer and standard poodle puppies.
