Snowtaire Barbara A Decker / Lauren Parker

Snowtaire, run by Barbara A. Decker and Lauren Parker out of Orting, Washington, has been breeding wire fox terriers, Welsh terriers, Lakeland terriers, and Irish terriers since the late 1960s. Barbara's involvement with showing and breeding terriers spans more than five decades, with the Snowtaire kennel name established in 1980 — a nod to the snow on nearby Mt. Rainier, just southeast of Tacoma in the shadow of the Cascade foothills.

The program holds AKC Breeder of Merit status and has produced multiple Best in Show winners in both the United States and internationally. Welsh terriers were the foundation breed, with wire fox terriers, Lakelands, and Irish terriers added over the years. Puppies from the program are sold with written health and hereditary guarantees and carry AKC registration.
