Sirius Australian Shepherds

Sirius Australian Shepherds, run by Lori and Mark Schlarb, raises Australian shepherds on 18 acres in Atwater, in the northeastern corner of Ohio — roughly an hour south of Cleveland.

The program has been active for over 25 years and holds AKC Breeder of Merit status. The Schlarbs are also members of both the United States Australian Shepherd Association and the Australian Shepherd Club of America. Their focus is on producing Aussies that are sound in structure and temperament — dogs capable of competing in the show ring while still thriving as household companions.

Health testing is a consistent part of the program. Dogs are screened annually through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and the Canine Eye Registration Foundation, and the kennel also tests for MDR1.
