Silverbow Labradors

Silverbow Labradors raises yellow, chocolate, and black Labrador retrievers in Benton City, Washington, in the Tri-Cities wine country region of southeastern Washington state. Lauren Seitz leads the program, which draws from American field trial champion bloodlines and places Labrador retriever puppies with hunters, search and rescue teams, service animal programs, and family homes across the country.

The lines are selected with an emphasis on drive that can be switched off indoors, making the dogs practical for both working roles and life as a household companion. Puppies are AKC registered, tattooed at five weeks, and temperament tested individually so that each pup is matched to the right placement. Early socialization is built into the program, with puppies introduced to varied stimuli before they leave the property.

The program's reach extends well beyond the Pacific Northwest. Silverbow dogs have gone to professional hunters, antler retrieval work, and search and rescue teams, and the kennel has a long history of donating dogs for people with disabilities, including placing what it describes as the first service dog in Lima, Peru to assist children with special needs.
