Silver Peaks Farm

Silver Peaks Farm is a breeder of miniature Hereford cattle in Silverton, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley near Portland. Owner Dave Potter has been raising miniature Hereford cattle for more than a decade and follows American Miniature Hereford Association guidelines with annual genetic screening and eye exams.

The farm conducts regular health screenings, follows balanced mineral supplementation plans and partners with a local veterinarian for routine hoof care and vaccinations. Calves are born in small groups on rotational pastures, receive early handling to support friendly temperaments and transition to sheltered barns during winter months.

Every herd member enjoys daily social time near the farmhouse, and there is a dedicated calving barn for close supervision in spring. Potter maintains detailed records and pedigree histories for each animal, documenting birth weights, health milestones and lineage back several generations. Visitors often remark on the cattle’s calm nature and the farm’s tranquil setting amid rolling fields.
