Silkie's Farm

Silkie's Farm raises alpacas in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, in the heart of Chester County about 35 miles west of Philadelphia. Marcia Silkroski and her husband Al launched the farm in 2011 after Marcia stepped away from a career as a dietitian, drawn by a goal of using their property in a sustainable way and raising livestock they would never have to harm.

The farm operates as a family-owned small business and has grown into a recognized mentor farm within the regional alpaca community, serving as a resource for newer breeders and farmers throughout the area. The herd is watched over by a resident llama that serves as a guardian animal, keeping predators at bay. Alpacas for sale in Pennsylvania can be found here alongside an active breeding program that produces fleece in a range of natural colors.

Beyond breeding, the farm processes its annual clip into yarn, roving, and fiber arts supplies, and Marcia has developed a hands-on connection to the fiber arts through felting, hand-spinning batts, and educational programming. The farm store and seasonal events reflect that same integrated, whole-farm approach that has defined Silkie's Farm since its earliest days.
