Shambalah Alpaca Ranch
Shambalah Alpaca Ranch has been raising suri alpacas on its Franktown, Colorado property since Memorial Day 2010, making it one of the longer-running suri alpaca programs on Colorado's Front Range, about 30 miles southeast of Denver. Owner Hillary Devin started the ranch after an unexpected introduction to the suri breed, with the original plan to grow the herd organically on the existing acreage and develop homegrown champions over time.
The program specializes exclusively in suri alpacas, with a focus on fiber quality traits including lock structure, luster, and density. That emphasis has translated steadily into the show ring: the ranch has earned the Futurity Suri Breeder of the Year title in the Small Farm Division four consecutive years through 2025, along with National Show Points honors for both halter and fiber categories. Animals bred at Shambalah carry music-inspired names, a tradition dating to the ranch's founding.
The farm store offers mill-spun yarn and raw suri fleeces, with fiber graded and scientifically tested by micron count. For those interested in suri alpacas for sale in Colorado, Shambalah offers both breeding stock and fiber animals from a herd with documented show records and EPD data on individual animals.
