Sawdust Alpacas LLC

Sawdust Alpacas LLC raises huacaya alpacas in Fallon, Nevada, a high-desert community roughly 65 miles southeast of Reno and a similar distance from Carson City. Carolyn and Glenn Waddell relocated the farm to Fallon in 2018 and have built their herd on the sage-and-sand landscape of the Churchill Valley.

The farm's alpacas are registered through ARI, and the Waddells have selected animals with attention to fiber quality, including dense, crimpy fleece, good bone structure, and strong conformation. The herd includes farm-bred herdsires developed on the property, and the Waddells have acquired animals through alpaca auctions and from established outside lines to continue improving their stock. Animals from the program have been entered in shows such as the Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver.
