Savidge Labrador Retrievers

Savidge Labrador Retrievers has been raising Labrador retrievers in northern Idaho since 2011, making it one of the longer-running programs for Labrador retriever breeders in Idaho. Owner Wendy Nasseth runs the program on a small farm in the Spirit Lake area, near Spokane, Washington, where the dogs are raised as part of a family operation that includes children learning animal husbandry alongside the breeding program.

The kennel is active across multiple dog sports, competing in AKC and HRC hunt tests, NAHRA field events, conformation shows, Rally, dock diving, and shed dog competition. Health testing follows CHIC requirements for each breeding dog, covering hips, elbows, eyes, and a range of genetic clearances. Savidge is a member of the Rose City Labrador Retriever Club, the Spokane Bird Dog Club, the North Idaho Shed Dog Club, and the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Club.

Puppies are hand-raised and socialized by the family, and the program emphasizes placing each dog in a home that fits the individual pup. Dogs from this program have gone on to earn titles in hunt tests, conformation, and dock diving, and past offspring have worked as therapy and service dogs.
