Jeff and Marie Pagenkopf have operated the farm since it came into the family in 1948, and in 2013 they transitioned from dairy to a beef and livestock operation centered on miniature Herefords.

Today the herd numbers more than 100 head, with calves registered and DNA tested. The farm is a working crop and livestock operation where Jeff focuses on growing feed for their cattle, keeping the program largely self-sufficient. Sandy Acres also raises Katahdin sheep alongside the miniature Hereford herd, and the property is home to a variety of other animals as well.
