Round Hill Alpacas

Round Hill Alpacas, run by Randy and Cindy Hall, raises huacaya alpacas in Coventry, Connecticut, in the Tolland County region of northeastern Connecticut about 25 miles east of Hartford. The farm got its start in 2007 with two bred females, and the herd has grown steadily since then through breeding, buying, and selling animals over the years.

The farm's origins are rooted in a personal story: the Halls were searching for a meaningful activity involving animals for their son Curtis, an artist with autism, and alpacas turned out to be the right fit. That experience shaped a broader purpose — the Halls have been involved in organizing the Creative Living Community of Connecticut (CLCC), a nonprofit working toward an inclusive agricultural community for adults with and without developmental disabilities, and their alpaca program has always been tied to that larger vision.

Youth education is also a core part of what happens at the farm. The Paca Pals 4-H Club grew out of Round Hill Alpacas around 2010 and became an official club in 2012, giving young people in the area hands-on experience working with animals. The farm is a member of the Alpaca Owners Association and the New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association, and its fiber is processed through the New England Alpaca Fiber Pool.
