Rodent Country

Rodent Country, run by Caroline Adam, raises rats in Pembroke, Kentucky, a small community in Christian County about 20 miles northwest of Clarksville, Tennessee and roughly an hour south of Nashville.

Caroline breeds with a focus on health, temperament, and overall quality, and has been known to participate in regional expos — including events in Bowling Green and the Chattanooga area — where rats for sale in Kentucky and the surrounding region can meet prospective owners in person. The program produces a variety of colors and varieties, including Siamese, Cinnamon, Tonkonese, and werewolf rats, among others.

Socialization is a clear priority; rats from the program have been noted for calm, people-friendly temperaments from an early age. Caroline also follows up with new owners through care guides and feeding instructions, and takes a hands-on approach to educating first-time rat keepers on responsible ownership.
