Rockin Highlands Farms

Rockin Highlands Farms, run by Greg Reynolds, raises registered Scottish Highland cattle in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, in the Driftless Area of the state, roughly an hour southwest of Madison.

The fold has grown to between 40 and 60 head, with an ongoing focus on building out a stronger lineup of registered core-production dams. The program raises standard-sized highlands only — no minis or micro-minis — and the herd is managed on pasture year-round, with a winter feeding approach that uses wrapped square haylage placed directly in the fields and opened one bale at a time. No growth hormones or antibiotic feed additives are used. The operation also produces grass-fed, distiller's-grain-finished Highland beef, connecting buyers of Highland cattle in Wisconsin with a small farm that ties its breeding program directly to a traceable, pasture-based meat supply.
