Rock Garden Ranch

Rock Garden Ranch raises Scottish Highland cattle in Mountain Home, AR, Baxter County and the Ozark Mountains near Fayetteville. Shawn Anderson has been breeding Scottish Highland cattle for many years, follows national association health testing protocols and maintains membership in the American Highland Cattle Association. The cattle graze on open pastures supplemented with hay grown on site, and they receive regular handling to promote calm temperaments. Each calf is introduced to gentle handling routines from birth to support early socialization and resilience.

Inspired by traditional Scottish farming methods, the ranch preserves the breed’s distinctive appearance and sturdy resilience. With a focus on herd health, pastures are rotated seasonally and feed is sourced from the family’s sustainable crops.
