Road Runner Rascals Alpaca Ranch

Road Runner Rascals Alpaca Ranch raises huacaya alpacas in Utica, Ohio, a small community in central Ohio's Licking County roughly 30 minutes northeast of Columbus and on the edge of the state's Amish country corridor. Julie Judge and her partner Dave Hores launched the program in 2015, starting with three maidens and building the herd steadily from there.

Today the ranch spans 25 rolling acres and houses a herd of around 120 alpacas. The main barn — a heated 72-by-36-foot structure connected to a larger 72-by-170-foot facility — includes matted birthing stalls designed to support year-round care. The focus throughout has been on sound conformation and strong fleece characteristics, with the breeding selections guided in part by relationships formed with experienced breeders across the industry.

The program draws on genetics sourced from bloodlines across the country, and the herd's show record reflects that investment.
