Renaissance Ridge Alpacas

Renaissance Ridge Alpacas breeds alpacas in Mount Aukum, CA, in El Dorado County near Sacramento. Founded by Julie Alvarado, the farm has over a decade of experience in selective breeding and maintains active membership in national alpaca associations to uphold registry standards. Each alpaca receives routine health screenings, including fiber quality assessments and vaccinations, to support vitality and fleece consistency.

The herd grazes on open pasture with custom-designed shelters that encourage natural behaviors, and daily handling helps develop calm, friendly temperaments. In addition to traditional breeding, the farm focuses on sustainable fiber production, and onsite processing partners spin small-batch yarn that reflects the animals’ diverse fleece colors and textures.
