Red Granite Ranch, Ltd.
Red Granite Ranch, Ltd. has been raising huacaya alpacas in Livermore, Colorado since 2009, making it one of the longer-running alpaca seed stock programs in northern Colorado. Marc and Sharon Milligan operate the ranch on 400 acres at an elevation of 7,500 feet, situated at the base of the Rocky Mountains about 32 miles north of Fort Collins.
Breeding decisions at Red Granite Ranch are guided by a consistent focus on health, conformation, and fleece quality — specifically lasting fineness, density, and uniformity — with the aim of producing animals that are competitive in the show ring and viable in the fiber market. The ranch offers seed stock, proven herdsires in every color, and agisting services.
The program's show record reflects years of deliberate selection. Red Granite Ranch is the only alpaca breeder to have earned Futurity Small, Medium, and Large Breeder of the Year honors, and its herdsires have taken Futurity Herdsire of the Year titles for both dark and light offspring. The ranch also bred the AOA Supreme Dark Male Champion for 2016, 2017, and 2018, and received the 2020 James G. King Industry Recognition Award. Those looking for alpacas for sale in Colorado can find a herd shaped by more than fifteen years of focused huacaya breeding.
