Red Clay Kennels

Red Clay Kennels, German shepherd dogs, Axton, VA, serves Henry County in southern Virginia near Martinsville. It follows national registry standards and provides health screenings for hips, elbows and eyes.

All puppies are raised indoors with socialization at every stage, gaining exposure to household sounds, children and gentle handling by family members. Adult dogs live on a spacious rural property where they enjoy daily exercise in fenced paddocks and supervised off-leash play. Litter evaluations include temperament testing and a foundation in basic obedience, scent work and early problem-solving skills.

Training focus extends to teamwork and confidence building to set each dog up for success in working or companion roles. Both German shepherd dog and German shorthaired pointer litters are planned each season to complement the kennel’s emphasis on health and temperament. Owner Blaine Atkins brings years of hands-on experience and maintains a hands-on role in daily care and training.
