Rebekah Dunkel

Aspen Leaf Dairy Goats raises ADGA-registered Nigerian dwarf dairy goats near Wilsall, Montana, a small rural farm set west of the Crazy Mountains about an hour from Bozeman and 30 minutes from Livingston. The operation has been active since 2020 and intentionally stays small, with Rebekah Dunkel approaching her herd as a hands-on hobby farm that doubles as a working cattle and grain operation.

The breeding program focuses on producing dairy goats in Montana suited for milk production, show, and companionship. Selection criteria center on dairy quality and docile temperament, with deliberate attention given to calm, handleable goats that are easy to hand milk. Buck selection draws on pedigree research and performance records, with production potential a consistent priority.

Kids are primarily dam-raised when possible to support strong immunity, though males are often pulled to bottle-raise after a few days to ensure doe kids receive adequate nutrition. Handling and socialization begin at birth, with an intentional effort made to tame each kid from the start.
