Rafter 7 Ranch

Rafter 7 Ranch raises Doberman pinschers in Vader, Washington, a small community in Lewis County about an hour south of Tacoma in the Pacific Northwest. Hanna leads the program alongside her family, who bring third-generation ranching experience to the work.

The program grew out of a personal search for a well-tempered family Doberman pinscher, and that origin shapes the selection focus today: temperament, size, drive, and suitability for home life. The ranch's breeding stock includes both American and European lines, and dogs are kept in the home alongside dachshunds, cats, and children to support early socialization. Hanna's background in the medical field informs a research-based approach to breeding and whelping decisions.

Beyond the dogs, the ranch is home to American quarter horses and various livestock, giving puppies broad exposure to a working ranch environment from an early age. Rafter 7 Ranch also breeds miniature dachshunds, making it one of the few places in Washington state where families can find both Doberman pinscher and dachshund puppies from the same hands-on operation.
