Pocotaligo Kennel LLC in Sumter, South Carolina has been breeding Boykin spaniels since 1986, making it one of the longer-running programs of its kind in the state. Owner Kim Parkman operates the kennel in the Midlands region, roughly an hour southeast of Columbia, and her history with the breed traces back to foundation-stock lines in the Boykin spaniel registry.

The kennel sits on 74 acres and includes four ponds — among them a technical pond and a swim-by pond — along with terraced fields planted and maintained specifically for spaniel and retriever work. That setup gives dogs consistent, on-site exposure to the conditions they were bred for. Over the course of her career, Parkman has trained approximately one thousand dogs and overseen eighty to one hundred litters, with experience spanning hunt tests, field trials, canine interdiction, and conformation. More than twenty national field champions have come out of Pocotaligo, and five dogs have earned conformation Champion of Record titles — including one Boykin spaniel that achieved a dual championship in both the field and the show ring.

English cocker spaniels are also part of the program, with Parkman having competed and titled cockers in field events as well.
