Established in 2017, the ranch was built around a focused vision: combining fine-fleeced huacaya alpacas with Harlequin Appaloosa coloring, a niche that remains central to the program today.

The herd was assembled through deliberate selection, with animals chosen to carry or express appaloosa, harlequin, and patterned genetics alongside traits like superior conformation, lasting fineness, density, and uniformity. In 2019 the Antayas added an award-winning crimpy-fleeced male whose presence made it more practical to unite patterned color genetics with superfine fleece in the same animals. Their champion herdsire, PBR Divine World's Bellagio, earned championship honors at the 2021 Paoba Fleece Show, the 2020 ABR Fall Festival for Light Color, and at the Alpaca Owners Association National Show for Light Male Color, along with multiple first-place finishes in a single show year.
