Pine Meadows Farm Anatolians
Pine Meadows Farm Anatolians is Amy Thomas's breeding program for Anatolian shepherd dogs, operating on a 158-acre family farm in Black, Alabama, in the southern part of the state near Dothan.
Amy's connection to the breed traces back to her military service abroad, where she encountered the dogs working as livestock guardians in the field. That experience shaped the working focus of the program she later built at home.
Dogs at Pine Meadows are raised from puppyhood alongside a wide variety of farm animals, including horses, cattle, goats, chickens, geese, ducks, and guinea hens, so they develop the calm temperament and broad desensitization that effective livestock guardians require. Four Anatolian dams actively guard the pastures, and the current sire, Scouts' Apollo, was himself raised on a goat farm before joining the program. For families or working farms in Alabama looking for Anatolian shepherd dog puppies bred with a genuine livestock-guardian purpose, Pine Meadows represents a program grounded in real-world working experience rather than show-ring selection alone.
