Picnic Woods Alpacas

Picnic Woods Alpacas is home to alpacas in Lehighton, PA, Carbon County and the Pocono Mountains near Allentown. Dennis and Evalynn have been raising alpacas for over a decade, holding membership in the Alpaca Owners Association and maintaining routine health screenings for fleece quality and parasite control.

Their herd enjoys spacious turnout across 50 acres of rolling fields, with pasture rotation, daily interaction, and early handling to support gentle temperaments. Year-round shelter, fresh water, and veterinarian collaboration ensure consistent health and wellbeing across the herd. The farm’s sustainable grazing practices, community events, and annual fiber demonstration days reflect a hands-on approach to animal welfare and community engagement.

They partner with local fiber artists to highlight the natural color palette of alpaca fleece in small-scale craft projects. Their breeding program emphasizes confirmation, fleece density, and natural coloration to meet both show standards and fiber enthusiasts’ needs.
