Pacesetter Alpacas

Pacesetter Alpacas has been raising suri alpacas in Beloit, Wisconsin since 1995, making it one of the longer-running alpaca operations in the southern part of the state. Dennis Pace and his wife Christy started the farm with just two animals and built the herd over many years while working full-time jobs alongside the operation.

The farm spans 80 acres in southern Wisconsin, situated in Rock County roughly 30 miles south of Madison. From the beginning, the focus has been exclusively on the suri variety, a rarer type of alpaca known for its long, silky fiber that hangs in distinctive twisted locks. Those looking for suri alpacas for sale in Wisconsin will find a program rooted in selective breeding aimed at improving fiber quality and conformation across generations.

Selective pairing has always been central to how Pacesetter approaches its herd. Dennis and Christy have consistently bred only animals displaying desirable traits such as fine fiber and strong conformation, using the alpaca registry to trace lineage and make informed breeding decisions.
