Owl Ridge Alpacas
Owl Ridge Alpacas raises huacaya alpacas in Interlaken, New York, a small town in the Finger Lakes region about 40 minutes south of Syracuse. The farm is run by Jodie and Daniel Vanselow, who got their start in alpacas in 2010 with the purchase of three fiber males and have grown the herd steadily since.
The program places a clear emphasis on fiber quality and show-ring performance. Herd sires carry championship credentials, including animals sired by multiple Grand Champions, and the farm has competed at both regional and national shows, including the AOBA National Show. Fleece fineness, crimp, and density are recurring priorities in how breeding pairs are selected.
Beyond breeding stock, Owl Ridge also produces fiber goods and operates a small farm store, making it one of the more hands-on alpaca for sale operations in central New York. The farm's tagline, "Family, Fiber, Fun," reflects an approach that keeps the operation grounded in both craft and community.
