ONA, Leicester longwool sheep, Swannanoa, NC, in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville. ONA has focused on breeding sheep that meet breed standards and maintains health testing protocols recommended by sheep breeders societies. The flock grazes on rotating pastures and spends nights in a well-ventilated barn, with lambs handled regularly to encourage calm temperaments.

Jordan Choquette brings years of livestock experience to the farm and works to preserve the longwool’s quality attributes. Fleece from this flock is known for its natural luster, fine staple length and versatility for handspinners. Care is taken to introduce each lamb to different sights and sounds to support early socialization and adaptability. Breeding stock undergo quarterly veterinary evaluations, regular hoof trimming routines and receive tailored nutrition plans to support reproductive health. Visits are welcome by appointment to observe pastures, grazing rotations, barn care and shearing methods.
