Oak Bay Acres
Oak Bay Acres has been raising miniature horses in Canby, Oregon, south of Portland in the Willamette Valley, since its founding in 1973. Owner Sheryl Peterson started the operation in Oak Harbor, Washington, initially breeding Morgans and Arabians before adding miniature horses to the program in 1985.
The farm competes on both the AMHA and AMHR circuits, and its horses have earned world and national champion titles across halter and driving disciplines. A cornerstone stallion, Oak Bay Salsamio, produced world champion offspring now placed across the country and internationally. More recently, stallion Whiskey earned multiple grand champion and world show titles in halter and classic pleasure driving.
Peterson selects for correct conformation, refined heads, and small stature, with an emphasis on horses that excel in the show ring. Bloodlines represented in the program include Bristol Pepito, Rhotens Little Dandy, and Stonehenge Painted Feather, reflecting decades of deliberate pedigree work. Buyers searching for miniature horses for sale in Oregon with a proven show record will find a program grounded in long-standing relationships within the national miniature horse community.
