Northern Mystery Alpacas

Northern Mystery Alpacas raises huacaya alpacas on a family-owned farm in the Edson area of Alberta, roughly two hours west of Edmonton. Tom Eidt and his family run the operation, which holds registrations with both the CLAA and the AOA — two of the primary alpaca registries in Canada and North America.

The program's focus spans conformation, fibre quality, and temperament, with a particular interest in developing a strong colour herd alongside the classic white animals the industry is built on. Those looking for alpacas for sale in Alberta will find the herd draws on a varied collection of bloodlines, including Ice Man, Guellermo, Victor's Vaccoyo, Peruvian Sweet William, and Captain Nemo, among others.

Northern Mystery's animals are bred and shown, with several individuals earning champion and reserve champion placings at Alberta shows. Each pairing considers the fibre and conformation traits of both parents, as well as temperament and mothering ability. Animals from the farm have been placed into breeding programs, show strings, and companion homes.
