Northacre Shelties

Northacre Shelties, shetland sheepdogs in Temperance, MI, Monroe County and the Lake Erie region near Toledo. Lisa Mccain has been breeding shetland sheepdogs for more than a decade and is a member of the American Kennel Club and local shetland sheepdog clubs.

Her dogs undergo health screenings for hips and eyes, and every puppy is raised with daily socialization and gentle handling. They live in a home setting with access to secure outdoor runs and family interaction. Their farmstead setting includes open fields and shaded gardens where puppies explore safely under supervision. Northacre lines have appeared in local agility events, reflecting the breed’s versatility and keen intelligence. Puppies leave in good health with basic training milestones already set, supported by follow-up guidance and ongoing community connections. Several of their dogs have also been evaluated for therapy work, showcasing their gentle temperaments and reliable nature.
