Nite Star Alpacas
Nite Star Alpacas raises alpacas in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, in Montgomery County about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Ann and Jim Nogier started the farm in 2016 and have built a small herd of huacaya alpacas with a clear eye toward the show ring.
The farm's animals have earned recognition at the national level. One herd member, Mocha, took first place in the Rose Grey Female Juvenile class at the 2020 AOA National Show in Tennessee, earned a gold advanced certificate for scoring above 80 points, and went on to claim a Reserve Color Champion title in Grey Female — finishing second among 35 competing alpacas. Another female, Embellish, earned second place at the 2020 Buckeye Fall Fest and also captured a Reserve Color Champion title in White Female. The farm also participates in fleece competitions, entering sheared fleeces for separate judging rounds.
Beyond showing, Nite Star Alpacas produces small-batch yarn named after individual animals in the herd, giving fiber buyers a direct connection to a specific alpaca. The farm is a member of both the Pennsylvania Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (PAOBA) and MAPACA, and welcomes those curious about alpacas in southeastern Pennsylvania to visit and learn about the animals firsthand.
