Nistler's Farm Corgis Http://Farmcorgis.Com

Nistler's Farm Corgis raises Pembroke Welsh corgis on a 65-acre Ozark farm in Salem, Missouri, about an hour and a half south of Rolla. Linda Nistler and her husband Dave run the program as a hobby operation, keeping no more than three breeding females at a time, each raised in the home from puppyhood.

The program has a clear size philosophy rooted in early breed history. Rather than trending toward today's heavier show weights, the Nistlers aim for the compact dimensions recorded when the Pembroke Welsh corgi received separate breed status in the 1930s — dogs standing 10 to 12 inches at the shoulder and weighing between 18 and 23 pounds. Health and temperament are the stated priorities, and all breeding dogs undergo genetic testing.

Life on the Ozark farm shapes the dogs from the start. The adult corgis take part in everyday farm work — cutting wood, fixing fence, mucking stalls, and making trails — alongside daily hikes on the property. Puppies leave already started on crate training, whistle recall, and basic potty routines. Families looking for Pembroke Welsh corgi puppies in Missouri will find a small, home-based program where the dogs live as working farm dogs first, and family companions second.
