My Pampered Pugs

My Pampered Pugs has been raising pugs in Hartselle, Alabama since 2018, making it one of the longer-running pug breeders in the Tennessee Valley region, about 20 miles south of Decatur.

Tina Hinze and her husband Dion are both U.S. Army veterans who run the program as a husband-and-wife team. All pugs are home-raised rather than housed in a kennel setting, and for the earliest weeks of a litter's life, the dam and puppies are kept in a separate, quiet room away from adult dogs to provide a calm start.

Health care is handled through a local veterinarian, with breeding dogs receiving DNA testing and puppies going through a series of scheduled wellness exams that cover weight, temperature, pulse, respiration, vaccines, and fecal checks. Vaccines are never self-administered. Families who adopt a pug from My Pampered Pugs in Alabama receive a one-year health guarantee, and the program maintains a take-back policy for any dog whose owner can no longer provide care.
