Mt Ranch

Mt Ranch raises Wagyu cattle in Prineville, Or, in Central Oregon near Bend. Soni Mask and Shawn Mask have built a herd that follows breed association guidelines and includes routine health screening for parent stock and young calves. Their cattle graze on open pasture with access to shelter and receive daily handling to foster a calm temperament and readiness for standard livestock management.

The breeding program balances traditional genetics with attention to marbling and muscle, reflecting careful selection over several seasons. Animals move between rotational paddocks to promote soil health and consistent weight gains, supported by forage and targeted mineral supplementation. The Masks participate in regional livestock events to stay current with best practices and community standards. Record keeping includes birth dates, weights and veterinary history.
