Modak Dairy, Inc. has operated near Goodwin, South Dakota since the Moes family homesteaded the land in 1894, making it a multigenerational operation now in its fourth and fifth generations. Gregory Moes and his family run the dairy in the northeast corner of South Dakota, roughly 30 miles from Watertown. The operation milks over 2,500 Holstein cattle three times a day and farms approximately 4,000 acres, much of it dedicated to growing feed for the herd on-site.

All youngstock are raised on the property, and the farm has an active beef-on-dairy program. In 2021, the team built a new calf and heifer facility featuring group housing, ventilation, and a dedicated rail system for milk feeding. The dairy also pursues crossbreeding work, including a program pairing dairy cattle with Akaushi genetics to produce DoonCool and American Wagyu-influenced beef animals.
