Middle Earth Ferretry

Middle Earth Ferretry raises angora, semi-angora, and standard ferrets in Franklin, Kentucky, about 35 miles south of Bowling Green in south-central Kentucky. The ferretry is run by Stephani Plumb, a U.S. military veteran who has owned and worked with ferrets for over 30 years.

The program focuses on standard, angora, and EU polecat hybrid ferrets, with quality, health, structure, and temperament guiding every pairing. A notable part of the breeding approach involves carefully sourcing and importing bloodlines — including from Russia — to strengthen the gene pool while selecting against the nose cleft mutation that can cause respiratory problems in full angora lines. Kits receive a wellness exam and fecal float from a licensed exotics veterinarian along with their first round of distemper vaccinations before going to new homes.

Stephani is a member of the American Ferret Association, the Heart of Ohio Ferret Association, the Ferret Breeders Network, and the Angora Ferret Enthusiast group. She also serves as a licensed structure judge for ferrets across several countries.
