Melody Blankenship

Melody Blankenship is a breeder of Nigerian dwarf goats in central Virginia near Richmond. She has raised these miniature dairy goats for more than a decade, registering each animal with the American Dairy Goat Association and prioritizing routine health screening for CAE and Johne’s disease. Goats live in pasture-based herds with run-in shelters, giving them space to graze mixed grasses and browse native shrubs. Kids benefit from daily handling starting at an early age, ensuring they grow accustomed to people and remain calm during routine care.

The farm combines traditional livestock practices with careful record keeping, tracking pedigrees and milk production in each doe. Melody emphasizes balanced nutrition, rotating pastures to support soil health and incorporating supplemental feeds tailored for all life stages.
