Meepah Ventures, LLC raises alpacas on a multigenerational family farm in Buffalo Mills, Pennsylvania, tucked into the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in Bedford County, about an hour southeast of Altoona. Tony and Debbie Wambaugh revived the property, which has been in the family since 1813, to build a working alpaca operation and farm experience.

The herd numbers around 25 animals and includes pet and fiber males, breeding females, and champion studs. Fiber quality is a central focus of the program, with the team working to maintain consistent fleece across grades two through five — finer grades destined for project yarns, mid-grades processed into sock yarn, and coarser fiber used for handcrafted felted goods made on site. Meepah Ventures is a member of both the Alpaca Owners Association and the Pennsylvania Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (MAPACA).
