Mark Van Winkle

Mark Van Winkle breeds Labrador retrievers in Bangor, Maine, throughout the Pine Tree State near Portland. He has been involved in Labrador retriever breeding for over a decade and holds membership in both the American Kennel Club and a regional retriever club. All dogs are health tested for hip and elbow dysplasia before being placed in loving homes.

Puppies are raised indoors and incorporated into daily family life from an early age, with attention to social skills and basic training. Mark favors lines known for stable temperaments, strong retrieving instincts and suitability as therapy or family companions. His experience as a lifelong dog enthusiast shines through in periodic updates and photographs provided to new owners.

His kennel sits on a small rural property with access to wooded trails and secure fencing for daily exercise. Many of his graduates enter agility, search-and-rescue or happily settle into family life.
