Tom and Cheryl Kammerzell have operated the property since 1995, when they purchased a homestead that was originally established in 1936 as a wheat and barley farm.

The Kammerzells introduced Highland cattle to the operation in 1997 and have grown the herd steadily since, focusing on both registered replacement stock and naturally grown, grass-fed beef. Maple K Farms is a member of the Northwest Highland Cattle Association, and the herd has produced award-winning show animals over the years.

Animals are raised on open pastures with access to cool streams and springs, and each animal is tagged or tattooed at birth with records maintained on health and well-being.
