Lw Shoaf

Shoaf Plantation raises registered Nigerian dwarf goats in Davidson County, about three miles west of Lexington, North Carolina, in the Piedmont region. The farm takes its name from the land Lw Shoaf's grandfather once farmed, and the family has been raising goats for more than 40 years.

The herd is registered with both the American Goat Society (AGS) and the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA), and Shoaf Plantation operates as a closed herd to protect animal health. The goats are tested for CAE and Johne's disease and have been confirmed free of both. Kids receive coccidia prevention, CD&T vaccinations, and a wormer dose before leaving the farm, and does receive a CD&T booster and wormer treatment around kidding time.

Those looking for registered Nigerian dwarf goats for sale in North Carolina will find a program built around careful health management and low-intervention husbandry. The farm does not disbud kids, and roughly half of each kid crop is born naturally polled. The breeding animals are treated as part of the household as well as productive herd members, reflecting an approach that prioritizes the animals' wellbeing alongside responsible breeding practices.
