Lucas Chihuahuas

Lucas Chihuahuas raises AKC long coat chihuahuas along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, based in Pass Christian near the shores of the Mississippi Sound, about 50 miles east of New Orleans.

Stephanie and Donald Lucas run the program as a home-based, hobby breeding operation, with dogs whelped and raised inside the house rather than in an outside kennel. Their breeding stock draws on champion, grand champion, and international champion bloodlines from the United States, Europe, Asia, Russia, and Mexico. Puppies are socialized using the Puppy Culture method and evaluated through the Puppy Aptitude (Puppy Puzzle) approach.

The program follows a mostly holistic philosophy, aiming to keep the dogs as chemical-free as possible.
