Long Hollow Suri Alpacas
Long Hollow Suri Alpacas has been raising suri alpacas in Gallatin, Tennessee since 2002, when Karl and Jan Heinrich brought home their first four animals. The farm sits on 62 acres outside of Nashville, in Sumner County, and has grown to a herd of more than 100 animals over more than two decades of operation.
The program focuses on champion genetic lines of suri alpacas, with a particular emphasis on the breed's distinctive rope-like twisted fiber locks. That deep investment in the fiber side of the operation led the Heinrichs to establish New Era Fiber in 2005, an alpaca fiber processing facility located on the same property that handles fiber for more than 200 farms across the country.
Beyond raising suri alpacas for sale in Tennessee, Long Hollow also provides breeding and boarding services and offers an active mentorship component for those new to the alpaca industry. The farm operates as a working agritourism destination, giving visitors a firsthand look at the full arc from live animal to finished fiber product.
